Laura Basta

Laura began her athletic career when she was just three years old after taking up dance lessons, which became a lifelong passion of hers. In addition to dance, she quickly became obsessed with gymnastics and acrobatics. It was this combination of skills that led her to becoming a child performer, where she was featured in shows, as well as festivals across many countries in Europe.

In her early 20’s she changed her focus to competing in Fitness. In typical Laura fashion, she excelled, eventually winning 1st place in the 2015 PNBA Olympia World Titles held in Las Vegas.

Laura started at Fitness Playground as a Group Fitness Instructor in 2014. She was quick to impress her managers and colleagues alike, creating her own group training format, CircusFit, which is a unique class incorporating circus and acrobatic movements taught exclusively within the Fitness Playground.

In 2017, she was promoted to her current position of National Group Fitness Manager, where she oversees the recruitment, training, and programming for the group fitness side of the business. In a little over 12-months, Laura has been able to grow her department from two managers managing 75 instructors, to four managers managing over 150 instructors. It was because of this impact on the business that she won the Fitness Playground Employee of the Year award in 2017.

In addition to her impressive work resume, in 2017 Laura was named both the Puma and Women’s Health Ambassador, the Next Fitness Star award, as well as being a contestant on the Netflix TV Series, Beastmaster.
